Dr Joan Brunton | Adult Consultant Psychiatrist
Joan has been a consultant for 20 years working in community, day hospital and inpatient settings. She is currently looking after NHS patients at Priory Hospital Roehampton on the adult eating disorder unit. National posts include clinical director for Eating Disorders Network at Priory from 2019 - 2024 and recently elected to Eating Disorders Faculty at Royal College of Psychiatry.
Joan also works with adult patients suffering from anxiety, relationship problems and mild to moderate depression. She has an interest in women’s health, in particular, issues related to infertility and the menopause.
Joan takes a therapeutic approach to mental health and is trained in several therapeutic models including CBT, MANTRA, family carer skills and MBT whilst also using medication as and when necessary. She enjoys the crossover of physical and mental health aiming to work holistically to incorporate psychological and physical approaches for the individual.
