Private Psychiatry at our clinic in London
The Family Treatment Service provides diagnosis, treatment, and prescribing for adults, adolescents, and children.
Our highly qualified consultant psychiatrists address a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, and more.
The Family Treatment Service is proud to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), demonstrating its commitment to providing safe, effective, accountable, and high-quality care.
What is Psychiatry?
There are certain times when we will require you to see a psychiatrist before you are able to access our other services, such as when risk is very high. There may also be times when we recommend a psychiatry review as we believe it may be helpful, for example in order to consider medication or get a second opinion.
Our consultant psychiatrists have a wealth of experience both in the NHS and private settings, combining clinical expertise with a compassionate, client-centred approach.
They can work with individuals of all ages, from children to older adults, and address a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, eating disorders, addiction, and more. They employ evidence-based treatments and stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the field to offer the most effective and up-to-date care.
Our approach takes the time to understand each client’s individual experience, tailoring care and treatment plans that may include psychiatric treatment to target specific symptoms, psychological intervention (e.g. CBT), lifestyle adaptations and in some cases medication prescribing.

Our ADHD service offers comprehensive support from assessment through to post-diagnosis care and treatment, including medication prescribing. We tailor our service to individual needs, starting with an initial consultation with a Psychiatry Nurse Prescriber. If an assessment is recommended, this will be led by a Psychiatrist and involves a 2 hour assessment appointment.
-
An ADHD Initial Consultation is the first step towards a Child ADHD Assessment. This is a 30 minute online appointment held between a parent/carer and one of our Psychiatry Nurse Prescribers. This appointment costs £100. You can book an ADHD here.
If recommended after the initial consultation, a Child ADHD Assessment with us is £1400
Once you have booked the assessment, you will be sent a set of questionnaires for you to complete. All forms must be completed by a parent/carer and your child's school before you can select a date for your assessment. When we receive the completed questionnaires, we will then contact you to book your child's assessment date.
During the 2 hour assessment appointment, the Psychiatrist will undertake a full ADHD assessment including information about physical health, family history, description and impact of symptoms, any previous ADHD diagnosis or treatment approaches and any co-occurring mental health conditions. At the end of the assessment, the Psychiatrist will inform you of the outcome of the assessment. If your child is provided with a diagnosis of ADHD, the Psychiatrist will provide you with some support options, and details of our prescribing service if you would like to explore medication options for your child.
Please note that medication will not be discussed in the assessment appointment. Further information on our Prescribing Service can be found in our FAQs.
Following your assessment, after 2 weeks you will be sent a clinical report with further outcome details and recommendations. Your Psychiatrist will consider your child's individual profile of need and symptom management when devising a treatment plan that is completely personalised to them. Your Psychiatrist may refer you on for further support for example to a psychologist or therapist.
If you have any further questions that are not answered in our FAQs, please email us with your queries.
