Helen Fielder
Speech and Language Therapist

  • Helen is a Speech and Language Therapist working as a highly specialist level in the NHS as well as carrying out some work in the independent sector. She has over 30 years of NHS experience and offers assessments and therapy for preschool and school aged children who have speech, language and communication difficulties. Helen aims to improve children’s speech and language skills whilst keeping therapy fun, and practical as well as motivating and stimulating. She believes in working alongside parents and key staff to develop the skills that will enable children to develop and use their communication functionally in everyday environments.

    Helen has worked with preschool and primary school aged children with speech and language difficulties in clinics at children’s homes and in mainstream nurseries and schools as well as at a resource base attached to a mainstream school. Helen is highly experienced in working with children presenting with a wide variety of speech, language and communication difficulties. Helen’s special interests are in autism spectrum disorder, social communication difficulties and developmental language disorder.

Leah Jones
Speech and Language Therapist

  • Leah is a highly experienced speech and language therapist who has worked in both the private and public sector (NHS and Local Authority) for over 10 years. Leah has supported children and young people presenting with a range of speech, language and communication needs. She is able to support pre-school and school aged (primary and secondary) children/young people. Leah has focused much of her work on supporting individuals presenting with social communication differences/Autism. Her expertise in this field has enabled her to develop a deep understanding of the unique communication challenges faced by children on the autism spectrum. Leah is passionate about using a neuro diversity affirming framework to develop her client’s communication skills, increase their social interactions, and enhance their overall quality of life.

    Throughout her career, Leah has worked with children of all ages and backgrounds. She has a wealth of experience in developing individualised treatment plans that address each child's specific needs and goals. Leah is also skilled at working collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure that her clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

    Leah is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field of speech and language therapy for children. She regularly attends professional development workshops and conferences to expand her knowledge and refine her skills. Her dedication to ongoing learning and improvement is a testament to her passion for helping children with speech, language and communication needs reach their full potential.

  • Leah is available every other Friday 9am-1pm. Please note Leah is unable to work in any Wandsworth Schools. She can however support families who are based in Wandsworth in clinic or at home.

Clare Furneaux 
Speech and Language Therapist

  • Clare is a highly experienced speech and language therapist with over 10 years experience working in the private and public sector (NHS and private practices). She works with children and young people aged 4-16 years old who present with a range of speech, language and communication needs. Clare is passionate about supporting children and young people to develop their language skills so they can build their confidence communicating with a range of people in a variety of settings. She believes in using neurodiversity affirming approaches and setting goals collaboratively with parents and schools to ensure all communication targets worked on are functional and meaningful. Clare specialises in assessing and supporting children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and has worked in a range of specialist centres delivering bespoke therapy to this client group. I am a member of the National Association of Professionals concerned with Language Impairment in Children (NAPLIC) and she ensures she is aware of the latest research to enable me to deliver effective, evidence-based therapy.
