Professor Deborah Bowmanis a psychodynamic psychotherapist. She has worked throughout her career in the NHS and higher education and served on the Boards of several charities and national organisations. Deborah works with adults who have a specific area or relationship that they want to explore in therapy and those who might feel that something isn't quite right or as they would like it to be in their lives. Her treatment aims to provide a trusted space to explore and develop insight about what may shape experiences, including what may be out of awareness. Through understanding, the possibility of living with greater freedom and choice can develop. Deborah's background and experience enable her to work with a wide range of people. She is particularly interested in the experience of illness, including serious and life-limiting diagnoses, caring, perinatal mental health and the transitional phases of life, such as young adulthood, parenting, ageing and bereavement. Deborah's approach is open and collaborative, with the pace set by those with whom she is working. She offers both time-limited and open ended psychotherapy.
