Miriam is a Specialist Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in supporting children, adolescents and their families. After training at King's College London, Miriam worked in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) supporting young people and families with a variety of complex and co-morbid mental health difficulties, conducting assessments and interventions. Miriam has chosen to specialise in working with children and young people experiencing emotional, behavioural or neurodevelopmental difficulties with the aim of reducing emotional distress and fostering resilience to help young people thrive. Miriam supports young people with a range of difficulties including those who experience low mood/depression, anxiety, OCD, eating difficulties, emotional dysregulation, poor body image, identity and low self-esteem, stress and trauma, difficulties in the context of neurodiversity, and peer-related challenges. She is passionate about supporting children and young people, and is dedicated to delivering tailored, evidence-based interventions to improve wellbeing. In her work, Miriam adopts an integrative approach, drawing on multiple modalities to best support the specific needs of the families she is working with. Miriam draws from various psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), systemic and psychodynamic approaches. Miriam is a warm and thoughtful clinician who offers a validating and safe space, working collaborative with young people in order to equip them with skills to make a lasting positive change. Miriam is committed to involving parents/carers in the therapeutic process to achieve the best possible outcomes for families and is passionate about advocating for the needs of the young people she works with. Miriam is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which is the regulatory body for Clinical Psychologists. Miriam offers both face-to-face and online assessments and interventions.
